Coalesce, - The smashing end of a tour
After leaving halfway in Coalesce’s set at Hellfest in order to go check out Europe and their legendary hit ‘The Final Countdown’ I decided to check them out for a full show at the 013 venue. It was the last show of their lengthy European tour, tired and beaten they took the stage one more time.
Unfortunately I missed both opening acts tonight, Hammers and Otis. So I immediately moved on to the main event of the evening, the mathcore foursome from Kansas City named Coalesce. Having just released their new album OX through Relapse Records, they brought the audience a variety of new songs and old songs. They even played some material of their already recorded and upcoming EP due later this year. The performance was again very nice to watch, especially the spastic movements of the guitarist are funny to watch. Unfortunately the sound was a bit messed up tonight (contrary to what I heard at Hellfest), for the sound was a bit scrambled in average and the vocals were compressed as hell and loud as fuck. Nevertheless it was still a nice performance to see, they hope to be back here next year so if you missed them this time, be sure to catch them on their return.
