Fear Factory, After All - Fear Factory is back!
The belgium metallers of After All have the great honor of supporting Fear Factory on tour. I have seen these gentlemen onstage before and back then they couldn't convince me. After their performance I sadly enough feel the same about this band. Their thrashmetal is not really exciting and doesn't made me long for more. Most of the songs are way to long and halfway the song most of the audience has already lost their interest in the band. In the end it's even quite sad when the band is still trying to convince the audience and just gain support from a few guys in front of the stage and after the thank you and good bye applause of the audience it's time for the headliner.

It has been 4 year ago since I saw Fear Factory live. Back then they sounded not good. Burton voice was pretty fucked up and the entire band gave me even the idea of selling out. Just trying to make as much money possible before the band collapses. After the intro and during the first seconds on stage it was pretty clear. The new Fear Factory is back to kick some giant ass. The collaboration between Burton and Dino is just like the old days. Burton is screaming and singing like before and never shows any sign of problems or weariness. Byron Strout already collaborated with Burton on their latest two efforts but with the combination of Gene Hoglan they gave the other two guys a killer sound to create a enormous wall of sound that was gladly accepted by the entire crowd.

It goes without saying that after they started with a new song 'Shock' and 'Smasher/ Devourer' are the first songs to get the crowd really going. A crowd that constantly shifted between rough action during the good old songs and even some moshing during the new songs. Especially during 'Powershifter´, which started with an awesome scream of Burton, the crowd got berserk. I even think that this song could develop itself to a crowdpleaser during the next tour. During the entire set no songs of Demanufacture where played you probably ask your self why. Well because all the songs of Demanufacture are played during the encore. This obviously ended with Replica and even convinced the last scepticals in the venue. Fear Factory is back!
