Black Tide loses members, records new EP
Miami-based hard rockers Black Tide have completed recording a new six-song Ep, "Bite The Bullet", at Live House studios in their hometown with producer/engineer Mariano Aponte (formerly of Silvia Massy's RadioStar Studios). The band states: "We really went back to our roots on this one and it is being mixed right now!"Only two members remain from the lineup that recorded Black Tide's 2011 album "Post Mortem": Gabriel Garcia (vocals, lead guitar) and Austin Diaz (rhythm guitar). They are being joined in the studio by drummer Tim D'Onofrio.
Comments Garcia: "So the rumors are true. Things have changed drastically. Members out. Possible new ones around… Hmmmm.
"Just so everyone knows…. Austin and I did reach out to Steven [Spence, drums] and Zakk [Sandler, bass] about working on this Ep with us. They've moved on to new things. But we are still here and thinking about all of our amazing fans.
"This Ep is gonna be off the chain!"
"Post Mortem" sold 5,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 73 on The Billboard 200 chart. The Cd was made available in August 2011 via Dgc/Interscope Records.
"Post Mortem" was written and recorded in the summer of 2010, and was the follow-up to 2008's "Light From Above", which garnered instant critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Spin, Revolver and more.
