Anathema - A natural Disaster
A natural disaster; anathemas seventh full length studio album is released on 20th October. Anathema is visibly progressing with each new album, exploring new techniques and influences. Anathema guitarist Daniel "Danny" Cavanagh had previously stated this about the musical direction of the new album: "The [new] songs lend themselves to [a] simplified approach, being uncomplicated songs that get to the heart of the matter without having to go round the block to get there, if you see what I mean"
To be honest Ive never listen to anathema before. So its quite difficult to review their new cd. But lets give it a try. Normally I listen to much harder stuff than this kind of music. The opening starts with the song Harmonium.
Its really easy listing music. And so is the most of the cd. But it isnt bad.
When you listen to the cd for the second time its starting to get better. I enjoyed the record after listen it a couple times. The first three songs are experimental. The upcoming songs Are You There, Flying and Electricity will give you goose bumps. The only harder song on this album is song Pulled Under At 2000 Metres A Second. In mine opinion it could be a little bit harder. Seen the fact its not a hard album its definitely a very good album. Its nice and contains technical parts in the whole album. So when you listen to it more than one time its a great album. Even if you, just like me, like much harder music.
