Reflections - Free Violence
The band officially started in 2000 in Italy when the first members came together. Almost a year later the band was complete and they started to record some demos. At this time it all becomes very uncertain. I checked the biography and their website but I didn´t find the right answer. I believe this album is recorded several years ago but it was never distributed or this album has been released before and this is a re-release.

The biography of Reflections describes them as a mixture of Biohazard, Pantera, Agnostic Front, Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Groove. Of course several great names to compare yourself with and to be honest those influences are quite obviously present in the music. For example during ´Down Like A Clown´ I constantly got to think about Pantera and ´Shit Attitude´ reminds me of Suicidal Tendencies.

This is probably also the main problem of Reflections because of their attempt to copy several bands they fail to build up a face of its own. Which results in an album with too many different styles in it and doesn’t sound as a whole. There are of course some good songs on this album (´One Minute´, ´I Complete Myself´) which have some sort of a face of their own, but there are too few to pull the album to another level.

Overall Reflections misses their effect on humanity with Free Violence. The album is just too different with too many different songs and styles on it. Add to this that Reflections leans too much on their influences and doesn’t manage to mix it into one piece of music.
