Nitch - The Virus
NITCH The Virus
NITCH is a band from Suffolk England; the virus EP that we received is the follow-up of the demo, the demo(n). The virus EP contains 3 numbers, and lasts for 12 minutes, the bands frontman describes the EP as provocative and devastating sonic rage. The band is inspired by bands as diverse as Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie and Aphex Twin to Pantera, Gary Numan and Metallica.
When I first heard the album it was as boring as hell, the voice of the singer is monotone and extremely dull, the three songs are actually pretty standard and I think the members of the band are still exploring there instruments like a baby with a new toy.
When I listened to the album for the second time it was still really dull but I had to listen the whole album, and I actually did it, although I still almost fell asleep during those 12 minutes. What I also wonder is where the members of NITCH hear anything of those influences of the bands above especially Pantera and Nine Inch Nails.
I think this band has a lot of work to do if they want to be taken seriously because it really didnt make any impression on me, I think its a 13 in a dozen band and that the singer needs to do something on his voice because that is my main point of comment.
BUT
If you listen to the first 66 seconds of the 3e song I actually think the band does have the capacity to make good music, and if the make more music like those 66 secs... I might even begin to like them.
