Murderers Row - Beer Fueled Mayhem
Many people will recognize the vocalist from Murderers Row from the hardcore band Stigmata. Rob Riley who said himself to have always loved streetpunk and even when he was the vocalist of Stigmata he always wanted to start a streetpunk band someday. In 2000 this dream came true when they played their first show at the legendary CBGB’s club in New York. Since then the band has known good and bad times and recently released their latest album called Beer Fueled Mayhem.
After several songs it’s pretty obvious who are the main influences for Murderers Row. AC/DC, Rose, Motörhead are written all over the songs but I have to say that’s only a compliment. The songs, that handle about being a working class hero and the problems that go with it, have such a great vibe in it that you can feel the fun they had during the recording sessions.
As said before, lyrically it handles mostly about the working class. One exception to this is the song ‘Dear Mister Music Critic’ which is probably dedicated to people like me. Although I believe dedicated isn’t the right word to use here, I couldn’t resist a grin appeared on my face. A great song just to piss off some music critics.
With Beer Fueled Mayhem, Murderers Row have created a great solid streetpunk album which is a must have for every streetpunk fan around the globe. Most of the songs just breathe pride, honesty and honour, truly an album that makes it worth while being a working class hero.
