Waysted - The Harsh Reality

Well that’s where my Tell Sell / Amazing Discoveries tone ends. Waysted, a group UFO bassist Pete Way founded in the Jurassic period is just what you’d expect: straightforward hardrock, eighties style.

Eleven okay songs pressed on a disc that will satisfy collectors, some fans of UFO and old people in general. Nothing wrong with that, be it that I am none of the above. There’s really some okay songs here, but nothing shocking enough to make it a really rememberable effort. Just a couple of old hardrockers having a good time playing the music they love. That’s nice, that’s okay. But when the album crashes in by the time you reach the second half, where songs linger too long with playing times over five or six minutes (including never stopping blues meandering) you start to finger your own cd collection for something more contemporary.

Waysted’s The Harsh Reality is ok, as it is nice. Just barely enough for a listen or three. After that you crave for some UFO.
