Sahg - Sahg II
About two years ago I received the honours of reviewing the debut album of Sahg, a Norwegian heavy rock band that sounded like the Black Sabbath of this millennium. After a heap of trouble with the recordings of this album, they now present us Sahg II, which I can only expect to be as good as its predecessor.
And damn were my expectations, met, exceeded and overruled. Everything you ever loved in traditional heavy (hippie) rock from the sixties and seventies can be found right here on this record. Slow grooving stonerriffs, amazing clean vocals and hippie-like space-jam soundscapes make this album a real treat to listen to. This is freaking awesome!
The quality of the songs and their production is plain brilliant, I have not a negative thing to say about this record. Therefore I’d just like to advise all fans of heavy rock in the vein of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Pentagram and The Hidden Hand to pick this up when you get the chance, you’re guaranteed to like it. I for one foresee a very promising future for this band, and I’m even more curious about seeing them live. Tour Holland dammit!
