Ratface - Ratface
The Finnish tough guy hardcore band Ratface pleased me quite well with their short but powerful debut MCD in early 2007. This year they return with an even shorter MCD (which is also available as seven inch), which is selftitled. Let’s see if they still do the trick for me.
The band continues on the exact same path as with their debut record Demon Dayz. Tough guy hardcore with a very apparent hip hop background results in aggressive and grooving hardcore. The band doesn’t shun a bit of humour either, with a heavy metal scream in ‘Devilz Child’ and a hip hop beat and some beatboxing in the last track of the mini record.
Again a good release of this underground hardcore band. Fans of aggressive tough guy music with a lot of danceable swings to it, should definitely check them out. I just hope they put out something that lasts longer than a couple of minutes somewhere in the near future, because this one doesn’t even last ten.
