Concrete - zemENTER
The Austrian band Concrete brings us their demo zemENTER as a foretaste to their concept album which is under construction at the moment. It’s their first effort so far, so let’s see what this new band has to offer.
Concrete play a mixture of death and thrash metal, but do so in a rhythmical way. This rhythmic play in the vein of bands like Textures and such is still on a mediocre level, but it shows that this band is willing to do more than just the basic straightforward metal approach. The demo gives a nice impression of the direction the band aims at.
Personally I’m not too impressed by the vocals, which lack in power, and the annoying guitar sound. Yet, this is a demo, so I’ll cut them some slack a little bit. Right now I hear a promising effort, yet I feel that in a couple of years they won’t play these songs anymore. Curious to hear the full length though.
