Trouble - Live In Stockholm
Boy. What a revelation, this dvd of Trouble’s gig in Stockholm. I almost forgot that there is something as “an enjoyable live registration”. Too many times have I been found, chewing on an dvd cover in frustration. Shots these days are limited to 2 seconds, and to top it off some insane panning and assorted hyperactive camera movement.
Not the case with this DVD, a relaxed and intimate registration. A lot of closeups, and enough time to check out what the drummer, guitarist etcetera are doing. Nice. Maybe that is considered boring these days, but I found it to be very pleasant.
Live In Stockholm is as far as I know the first dvd for the Chicago doomers, and it is not a bad start. Excellent sound quality (choose between Dolby 5.1 or DTS Surround), which makes it very attractive as just an audio pick too.
The setlist is predictable in a way, but on the other hand it’s a nice introduction for the Trouble-noobs. The Sabbathian ‘White Metal’ is still underestimated and underapreciated. Maybe this dvd will help changing the tide, and even spread the word for them.
All in all, Trouble – Live In Stockholm is a good quality dvd, that makes for a relaxed evening behind the tv. Make sure you hook your dvd player to your hifi system! And if you’ve never heard of these Doomies, it’s a great introduction to their material.
