Rhapsody - Symphony of the Enchanted Lands pt. 2 The Dark Sec

The Dark Secret
Many, many power-metalfans have been waiting for this. I would call it a moment of truth. After waiting way too long and checking out the website over and over again, I finally have the ultimate power-metal album of all times.

This album has got everything you’ve been looking forward to see in a band. There is no bad song on it. Every single song is typically Rhapsody.

As always, the drums are extremely fast and alternating. Guitar solos are very hard to follow; I had to listen a few times to ‘The Magic Of The Wizards Dream’ before I could sense every single note. And the vocals……I think a lot of opera singers are jealous of Fabio Lione.

The production is simply perfect. The choir (60 people) is wonderful and the voice of Christopher Lee really gets you into medieval times. I’ve heard someone saying that this is a movie, but without a screen to look at.

For me, a true fan of the band, this album is everything I could ask for. But I can imagine that anyone who dislikes power-metal, would prefer one of the previous albums. This one is less accessible.

Rhapsody is a band with a lot of medieval inspiration, including knights, warriors and dragons. On the previous albums the songs weren’t all that long and the coir and Christopher Lee weren’t included. I can imagine that if someone disliked Rhapsody, he or she would dislike it even more because all the things that create Rhapsody are present more than ever.

So, to all of you power-metal fans: do yourself a favor and get your ass to the record-store and buy this one. I don’t think you can get something better. But beware of the explosion of noise and overwhelming music you’re about to witness.
