Betzefer - Down Low
A few months ago we reported about the first ever Israeli signing by Roadrunner Records. Betzefer, from Tel Aviv, prepared to get launched in the international metal scene. The teasers on the internet sounded very promising. In May Metalrage.com already spoke with singer Avital. A few lucky people got the chance to see them play live at the Dynamo pre-party. Now, finally it’s time for everyone to get to know this band.
Betzefer plays rock ‘n metal, or metal ‘n roll. It’s an infectious mix-up which makes you want to bang your head instantly. The band mentions influences of Pantera and early Sepultura and those comparisons are certainly justified. Stand-out tracks such as ‘Down Low’ and the grooving ‘Split’ are brilliant songs that are among the best metal tracks I’ve heard this year. Trust me, if you are into plain pounding rock this CD will stick in your player for quite a while. It makes excellent background music while driving your car or preparing for a party or … well just any activity will do.
Judging by the music on this disc the band promises to be killer live, and I surely want to find out about that. To make things all a little extra spicy I can tell you that the songs got mixed by Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Illdisposed, Mnemic). I don’t think you have an excuse to not check out this record. Fuckin’ Rock ‘n Roll!
