At the 3rd of july the almighty Slayer is performing at the 013 venue in Tilburg. Or as far as the sceptics would go, fifty percent of Slayer is performing. But wait there’s more this night is a co-headline show with the french heavy weight champion of the World Gojira.
Of course you could go on nagging about missing Jeff Hanneman (RIP) and Dave Lombardo but to be honest Paul Bostaph is more than a descent substitute for Dave. Maybe he's not so creative but he's definitely a bit tighter than Dave. As for Gary Holt, the guy really doesn’t need an introduction and he's very down to earth towards the legacy of Jeff. So to be honest I'm quite thrilled to see these guys back to work in a club instead of a festival where you are surrounded by drunks who started to go berserk at the first tones of ‘Angel Of Death’.
Like I said before this night is a co-headline with Gojira. Indeed the French metalheads under the command of the Duplantier brothers have delivered some great albums in the past with The Way Of All Flesh and From Mars To Sirius. But the greatest piece of work is their latest effort called L'Enfant Sauvage. You could easily say that with this album they’vew catapulted themselves to the top of the technical metalgenre. This clearly is going to be a night that I will remember for quite a while.
