Rompeprop, Cliteater, Rectal Smegma - Beer, Drugs and Vomit
After hearing (tourmanager) DemonDust talking so much about this great tour, we couldn’t resist checking out the Gore Over Europe tour as well. On the bill tonight we had 3 Dutch bands; Rectal Smegma, Cliteater and Rompeprop, playing the final gig of the tour on Dutch soil.
Even though there were some parents in the room, Rectal Smegma had a bit of a false start with only a handful applauding people after their first song. Luckily the response got better with every track, since the audience just had to drink some more beer at this early moment (4 o’clock in the noon!). Not only the bands’ enthusiasm but also gory tracks like ‘Scrotum Paturein’ and ‘Fat Grannies Are Cool’ and a lot of hoempa hoempa made it an enjoyable show at the end. A perfect band to raise your birthday party to a higher level. (Mindsaver)
Time for Cliteater then! The band, with the ever-sympathetic frontman Joost (Inhume) at the foreground, did all to keep the party going. Although their music is a bit more serious than the other bands of the line-up, they succeeded in keeping the positive vibe with songs like ‘Cock And Love’, ‘M.I.L.F. Hunter’ and ‘Didgeridildo’. The sound wasn’t optimal today, but well enough to hear Martijn’ extreme blastbeats, next to the bands’ grooving parts and guttural vocals. A tight band that won’t fail on both musical as fun aspects easily. (Mindsaver)
Even though it was about 18:00 at this point, it was time for the headliner of the evening already. Rompeprop from Eindhoven came to finish off the party that Rectal Smegma and Cliteater started already. It’s hard to describe the performance of this band in English as it contained a lot of Dutch humour, but I’ll try anyhow. Rompeprop is actually one of those bands you’ll have to witness live yourself before actually believing everything that’s been written down about them. Starting with an extremely lame but funny carnival-approved cd intro, they soon had the whole crowd going along with them. After that the three-piece played a hilarious set for about 50 minutes including a few new songs (if someone can actually hear the difference between the tracks) that had some good song titles such as ‘Konijnen met een V-hals’ and ‘Pikzwarteflikkerkak’ and of course their number one hit singles ‘Pelikanelul’, ‘Vaginal Luftwaffe’ and ‘Vulcanic Eskimo’. The tracks were merged gently into each other by their guitarist with some nice “too much info” speeches about farting through your cock and of course, vaginas in every possible context, besides some good swearing as Rectal Smegma’s parents left the place already. The last track of the band, Porn to be Wild’, including a guest-singer of a former band the Rompeprop band members played in, resulted in a complete chaos on the stage. A moshpit, people stealing beers from the band, singalongs and someone who flew right into the bass drum (accidently?) causing a cracked bass drum on the last day of the tour. Chaos, alcohol and goregrind, just how we like it! (Brent_)
