Saw these guys twice, and after the second time I was convinced. This band has potential. I received a copy of their first release to review, which I’m about to do right now.
This new local metalcore band that has very obvious influences of The Dillinger Escape Plan and Burnt By The Sun consist of members from Collision (grind/thrashcore), Concubine (funk/ska/metal) and Inhume (goregrind) and two fairly unknown members. At the time of the recording a bass player to stay wasn’t found yet. Also one of the recording guitar players has quit the band already. Replacement has been found on both fronts.
The five track recording "We Bring Stiletto’s Into Your Home" consists of Burnt By The Sun / The DEP kind of music with a little more metalcore than fucked up riffs. The weird rhythms are definitely there but not as much as for example the DEP.
Skilled drums combined with skilled guitar and bass riffs lay a heavy foundation that leads from very fast to normal paced riffs. Add some crusty violent screams and grunts to it and you have a band that stands like a rock. A BIG rock.
It’s hard to say a lot about this mini album, since it lasts no more than 11 minutes and 11 seconds, but it’s easy to detect that this is a band that shows a lot of potential. After seeing them twice, I expect to see and hear a lot more from this band in the future.
