Hatebreed - In Ashes They Shall Reap
After a period in which some band members participated in different projects and after releasing a cover album that was received with mixed feelings, Hatebreed is finally back with some new music. This hardcore/metal institute from Connecticut has been around since ’94 and their new self titled album will be their sixth studio album (including For The Lions) that marks the return to Roadrunner Records.
The first single of this new full-length is called ‘In Ashes They Shall Reap’. The song is a true Hatebreed song that could be one of the hardcore kids’ favorite new anthem live. It isn’t all just the familiar recipe though. Jamey Jasta uses his voice in a different way than he used to do with Hatebreed. This new style of singing seems to be the result of his escapade with Kirk Windstein in Kingdom Of Sorrow. That’s a good thing by the way.
Furthermore the package Roadrunner send me isn’t that interesting. Beside the track ‘In Ashes They Shall Reap’ itself there’s nothing more to find on the disc. At least they could have put the video of the song on the single or just a second song of the new album, but unfortunately they didn’t. ‘In Ashes They Shall Reap’ will also featured on the Saw VI soundtrack that will be released by Trustkill Records on October 20th.
Keep checking this site, ‘cause the review of the whole Hatebreed album will be online soon.
